This
is 100% raw, organic, REAL CHOCOLATE! Cacao is
the seed of a tropical jungle tree, from which all chocolate
is made. You've heard about the benefits of chocolate,
but you may have also experienced its downsides.

With
raw cacao, you get all of the highly nutritious and medicinal
qualities of this magical seed, without any of the detriments
that come with the addition of refined sugar and dairy that are almost always in processed chocolate.
Even just roasting cacao diminishes many of its healthful
properties and turns many of its delicate components toxic, which makes raw cacao the best way
to eat your chocolate!
Want
to know why cacao is such a nutritional powerhouse?
-
according to tests that have been done, it's the highest antioxidant source of any food tested, containing
10 times the amount found in blueberries!
- the #1 source of magnesium of any food! Magnesium is
primary for healthy heart and brain function, and maintaining bone mineralization (over
80% of Americans are chronically magnesium-deficient!)
- the #1 source of chromium of any food! Chromium is
necessary for balancing blood sugar (also happens to be the #1 trace mineral deficiency)
- cacao contains phenylethylamine (PEA), which is the
chemical our brains produce when we fall in love. It can also
increase focus and alertness, and stimulate imagination and
creativity
- cacao is rich in tryptophan, an essential amino acid that is highly deficient in Standard American Diets, since cooking destroys tryptophan. Tryptophan is necessary for the production of the neurotransmitters serotonin and melatonin, which are essential for reducing stress, enjoying deep sleep, and an overall sense of well-being.
- cacao contains anandamide, a neurotransmitter that's
known as the "bliss chemical", because our brains
produce it when we're feeling really good
- it contains no sugar, unlike processed chocolate
- cacao contains theobromine, a relative of caffeine,
which has a relaxing effect on the smooth muscle groups, deepens
breathing, and produces a subtle, clear sense of emotional well-being
and open-heartedness. Also, theobromine has been found to destroy
102 types of bacteria!
- it contains surprisingly high amounts of vitamin C, higher than any other nut or seed, by far. There is no vitamin C in processed chocolate.
- an excellent source of iron and sulfur
All
this, and much more! Try it and discover for yourself.
What
makes this specific cacao better than other types?
Contrary to popular belief, properly processed cacao has very little if any caffeine. Much of the cacao in the marketplace tends to cause headaches or other imbalances with short- or long-term usage. This is an indication of either added caffeine, incomplete fermentation, or leaving
too much shell/skin debris in the final product. Cacao requires slow, complete fermentation. This allows microorganisms to completely consume their food supply, so they complete their life cycle (so that the resulting product does not contain harmful bacteria). Incompletely fermented Cacao will smell of vinegar or mold, and is best to put on your garden. Also, all shell material should be removed. Cacao beans are surrounded by a shell/skin that contains many toxins. Most or all of the caffeine is in the shell/skin, and there are many other far more toxic substances which exist to protect the beans from insects, so they remain viable and can grow trees. This cacao has had the majority of shell matter removed. This creates a more delicious cacao which embodies optimal effects.
What
do they taste like, and how do you eat them?
Cacao seeds (often called cacao beans) taste like dark
chocolate. These cacao seeds naturally break into "nibs",
kind of like raw chocolate chips, when their skins have been removed.
They combine really well with many different foods. You can:
-
eat them straight, to experience their unique energy and rich,
delicate taste
- make raw chocolate "milk": blend cacao nibs with homemade nut
milk (cashew, almond, hemp, brazil nut, etc.) or herbal tea, Mesquite
or Carob powder, Vanilla Agave Nectar, Coconut Oil, cinnamon powder,
and a pinch of Sun Fire Salt
- blend them into coconut- or fruit-based drinks or smoothies,
for a delicious and energizing beverage
- blend Cacao nibs with raw, fresh-pressed Sugar Cane juice
for the best beverage ever; it tastes like drinking "liquid Christmas"!
- eat them with Vanilla Agave Nectar for a quick raw chocolate candy!
- make quick "chocolate granola" by combining ground
Flax seeds, Cacao nibs, Coconut Oil, Agave Nectar and a
pinch of Sun Fire Salt into a little bowl, stir it up, and
eat it!
- add them to raw ice creams (real chocolate chips!)
- make chocolate salads! Sprinkle Cacao Nibs into a salad with
Celery, Cabbage, Tomato Concentrate, Nutritional Flakes, Chili Pepper, Lemon juice, a type of nut/seed/oil, and
Dulse or Sun Fire Salt. The taste combinations are endless!
Specific
foods that Cacao synergizes really well with (meaning both foods
enhance the properties of the other) are Chili Peppers (the
way cacao was commonly used by the Mayans and Aztecs; the original
"hot chocolate" was spicy-hot!), Hemp Seeds, Spirulina, Vanilla, Agave Nectar, Aloe Vera, Bee Pollen, Raw Honey,
Maca, Goji Berries, other berries, Truly Raw Cashews, Coconut, Carob, Mesquite Meal, and Durian.
